Corfu

CorfuJust a 30-minute drive and a half-hour ferry ride will bring you to Corfu Town. This labyrinth of narrow streets has its multicultural influence on the city and its inhabitants. Napoleans, Venetians, Franks, and Britons have all occupied the island over the centuries, and all have left their mark on architecture, people, cuisine and language.

Sights worth visiting: Liston, a café full of cafes (try the typical local jibibira), the church of Agios Spyridon (the patron saint of the city), the Old Fortress, the Palace of Saint Michael and St. Michael. In any case, buy handmade lace, for which the island is famous. Also visit Kanoni and Pontikonissi (the famous postcard view of Corfu) with Our Lady of Vlacherna.
